4. Care & Maintenance Guide
I. Daily Cleaning & Drying
Please clean your knife after each use, particularly after exposure to moisture, salt, or corrosives.
- Blade: Clean with warm water, a soft cloth, and neutral soap. A soft brush can help remove debris from the pivot and lock area.
- Drying: Dry all components thoroughly with a cloth, then air-dry in the open position to eliminate residual moisture.
- Handle: Wipe the handle according to its material (G-10, Micarta, etc.) using a damp cloth. Avoid strong corrosive cleaners.
II. Regular Lubrication
Regular lubrication ensures smooth action and prevents internal corrosion.
- Lubricant Selection: A light knife-specific oil is preferred.
- Application: A light application of oil is all that is needed at the pivot, lock interface, and other moving joints.
- Distribution: Work the oil in by opening and closing the blade repeatedly. Wipe away any excess to avoid attracting dust.
III.Storage Recommendations
After each use, we suggest gently cleaning and lightly oiling the blade.
For long-term storage, please ensure your knife is completely clean, thoroughly dried, and has a light coat of oil applied. It is best stored in a dry, well-ventilated environment, away from prolonged exposure to high temperatures and humidity.
5. Care Instructions
To keep your KniClad Knife performing at its best and to maintain warranty coverage:
Proper Use
Use your knife only as a cutting tool – not as a screwdriver, pry bar, hammer, or chisel, which may lead to blade chipping, lock mechanism failure, or pivot damage. Please note that damage resulting from such misuse is not covered under the warranty.
Disassembly Advice
Do not disassemble your knife — doing so voids the warranty. Our tools are assembled with complex internal components and potentially small parts (such as pivot bearings). Improper reassembly can compromise the tool's function, create safety hazards, and will unfortunately, void the product warranty.
